Biography
Nadir Fouani (he/him/his) was born in Detroit, Mi and was raised in Dearborn, MI, home to one of the largest Arab and Muslim-populated cities in the United States. Nadir moved to Los Angeles in 2022 and began his Student Affairs career as a Resident Director working in Residential Life at UCLA. Nadir was the Resident Director Hedrick Summit and is now overseeing the Transfer Experience Living Learning Community in De Neve Towers on The Hill.
Nadir graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from Wayne State Univ. in Psychology, minoring in Sociology & Public Health. Nadir earned his Master’s Degree in the Higher, Adult, & Lifelong Education, Student Affairs Administration Program at Michigan State University.
During his time at Wayne State University, Nadir was focused on supporting underserved populations of students like first-generation students with community work, interfaith work, and mental health advocacy. While at Michigan State University, Nadir oversaw the residential building that housed the Charles Drew Science Scholars program, and taught a course focused on Student Leadership Development.
Nadir’s passion for supporting underserved students ultimately led to his career working in Student Affairs and Higher Education. Nadir became active with his membership in National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) and American College Personnel Association (ACPA), two associations within higher education.
Outside of work, Nadir enjoys playing basketball, working out, reading, playing video games, doing yoga, watching movies, and to travel.
