You can’t change the world, but what you can do is change one place, prove that it works, and then the rest will follow.

Jane Semel, Semel HCI Founder & Visionary

Who are we?

The Semel Healthy Campus Initiative Center (Semel HCI) envisions UCLA as the healthiest campus in the country and to inspire other campuses and communities. By identifying existing strengths across our campus and bringing individuals together around a common goal, Semel HCI has created an infrastructure to collaborate and rapidly translate research into practice. In doing so, we aim to cultivate a flourishing community in which all Bruins can thrive, and where health and equity are woven into the very fabric of the university.
