Biography

Dr. Agustina Bertone is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Psychiatry. She provides culturally-responsive and trauma-informed care to mediate the intergenerational transmission of trauma from parent to their infant, and creates a nurturing place for medical teams to come together and share their experiences. Dr. Bertone is also a McNair mentor to undergraduates who are first generation college students, guiding them through the college process and supporting their growth to prepare them for graduate school. As a bilingual and bicultural psychologist, she is passionate about centering issues of social justice in her work and is an advocate for improving mental health service provision for marginalized communities.
